Hey folks,

I have a 1989 Maxum 1700 XR bowrider that i've removed the carpet on, and i'm looking to remove the old adhesive and paint the interior sides of the glass hull where the carpet used to cover. This is the rough, non-gel coated side on the interior. Is there any mold -release on this side that could hinder paint adhesion? Will regular oil-based Rustoleum products work on these surfaces? Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

No mold release. Epoxy paints will adhere well with the surface roughed up. Rustoleum? Not marine. Not my first choice but I'm sure there's others here that might have something to ad about that.

Rustoleum has a specific marine topside paint that folks have had good luck with.

Didn't know that. Good. I'm used toi seeing the cheap spray bombs of Rustolium paint.
