1989 Black Max V200 - Tilt/Trim Issue (Issue w/ Trim UP Only)

During my last lake outing a week or so ago the tilt trim stopped working correctly and while it still trims/tilts DOWN just fine with the standard control on throttle, the trim/tilt UP function doesn't work, you can just hear the solenoid click.

There is power to the solenoid and if you manually bidge the two main posts on the trim up solenoid the motor trims up properly as it should...Thinking it was a faulty solenoid, I ordered one and replaced it this morning, but the issues continues.

Any help you can provide will be much appreciated, the weather is calling me to the lake, but the trim issue makes it a bad idea...

Travis,

If it isn't the solenoid, then it must be the trim motor. There is a remote chance you have a faulty new solenoid, so swap the good DOWN solenoid with the UP solenoid. If you still have UP issues, then it's the motor, if the fault moves to the DOWN trim, you have 2 fault solenoids. That is really bad luck but does happen.

But as I noted in my original post the motor works just fine, if I connect the two main terminals on the UP solenoid the motors trims up as it should...maybe a bad ground somewhere??

Maybe re-read my post.... You have a faulty solenoid. Bridging the 2 wires proves that.... Get a multi-meter or a test light and check that you get power to the small blue wire on the UP solenoid when you press the button... If you do, then it's the solenoid.

Change remote to likely.
