I have a 1991 Suzuki DT 55 boat motor that will not start without starting fluid. I had the carburetors cleaned last year. I was told that I need to get a higher spark plugs. What can I do to fix this problem??

Thanks in advance,
Brikard

Start with the basics, check compression and spark then clean the carbs again.

Also be careful with the starting fluid. I have heard stories of pistons being blown due to lack of lubrication.

Waffles is correct, Starting fluid can wash down the cylinder walls, search out starting fluid and there are alternatives listed in the forum.

I would start with fresh gas & new plugs, check your fuel filters, check wires for looseness & any corrosion (including coil wire) sockets
