Barracuda, these two are inexpensive and easy to do.

Depending on which model motor you have you may find the 150 / 175 / 200 is pretty much the same motor, just rated at different rpm. In any case I wouldn't get too hung up on decals (hp numbers on the hood). Concentrate on maxing out the set up with your current prop.

Let's look at your current baseline numbers but just to give you a heads up we've been very pleased with the performance of the Turbo Ultima 4 on the Sea Pros.

Any suggestions on pitch on the Turbo U4 and motor raise (as a first tryout)?
Thanks,

Start with the basics, what prop do you have now? What's the top rpm with an average load? Top speed? Jackplate?

We need to know where you're at now in order to map out a route to get to where you want to be.

Current prop is marked 14-1/2-17 R WMC aluminum (probably stock prop). As I remember it, motor spins roughly 5000 rpm with yours truly onboard (tag on motor says 5600rpm max). with some trim reached 48-49mph. No jackplate yet, motor sits way low with mounting bolt in top hole(of 5 possible).the holes spaced 3/4".
Jack plate would be best? (sneaky pete would just remount motor in higher position using existing bolt holes).

Yes, I would start by raising the motor on the transom but the aluminum prop may not allow it to go very high. As for jackplates, the popular ones are all pretty good. Bobs, Atlas etc. Bob's has kind of a neat thing now - they offer a hydraulic plate without the hydraulics. You order it as a manual and can add the hydraulics later if you like.
