1965 Evinrude Fastwin 18hp In Need of Float!!

I have a 18hp evinrude with carb problems i got the gasket kit and the float which was cork had alot of tarnish and upon cleaning the float it broke in to 4 pieces i need to know if the float that is manufactured for the 69-7? years work on my 65 and if not how and where would be the best bet for a replacment carb

The old cork float 375919 is replaced by a fuel-proof one, 396514. Any Evinrude dealer in the world can get it for you. It should be a tad under $10
