2000 3.0 I/O Mercruiser Alpha one gen 2- need info

I purchased a 2000 Stingray 180RX. The previous owner said he will mail the owners manual to me(when he finds it), but in the mean time, i need some info on this;
1. How much, and what grade oil do I put in? I pulled the dipstick and it seems to be WAY over full. I will replace the oil with the proper quantity to be sure.(might be wrong dipstick but i highly doubt it).
2. Anything else that might be deemed usefull info.

Up in the Adults Only sticky (second thread in this forum) you will find a section called Mercruiser information. There is a section there for the owners manual download for a 2000 & 2001 model.
There are also downloads for the OEM Service manuals. for both your engine and drive.

I pulled the dipstick and it seems to be WAY over full.

Was the oil milky ?????

I have had her out twice already and the oil is in like new condition still. I think whoever changed the oil didn't know what was going on. She runs like a champ.

Drain the oil check for milky oil. Just to be safe and sure.

I f you want the owners manual go to the manufactures web site and enter your info. I was able to pull mine up even though I already had it.

nope. if it was, what would be the cause? cracked head? I would be pissed i just got it. Like i said though, no milky oil. She runs good, would it run badly if the oil was getting water in it?
