How often do you change the manifold to riser gaskets?

I am doing it every spring, is this overkill?

I have a 2000 RWC Volvo 5.7L.

IMHO overkill if in fresh water. If in salt water not over kill ,if you are doing it to check your manifolds and risers.

If they original manifolds and risers, and you boat in saltwater, it's not overkill.

Thanks, it is a salt water boat. The manifolds are original (I think?) but the risers are only a year old.

They should really be changed in sets. Then you would be good for about 4 or 5 years before you need to start checking regularly.
Gasket surface failure is where they go bad fastest.
