First post here guys, so I appologize if this has been covered somewhere. I tried searching but came up with way to many posts to go through.

I have a 90 Commander 200 SF w/ a 4.3L (Yamaha). Our starter went out so we had to replace it. We ended up getting it rebuilt to save some money and plus we couldn't find anybody around here that had one. I am pretty sure that I have everything connected correctly, but can somebody take a look at the pictures and make sure I do? Sorry for the crappy cell phone pictures too.

I have one wire running from the positive terminal on the battery to the 12V post on the starter and there are two other wires that are connected to the same post that run up to the starter relay/solenoid. There is a smaller yellow/red wire that is on a smaller post behind the red wires that you cannot see, and the negative cable is running from the neg. terminal to the block for the ground.

My new problem is that I have no power to anything, not even instruments, lights, depth finder, etc and obviously it won't turn over or click. Does everything look like it's connect correctly? Could a fuse or something have been tripped causing it to not have power?

Any help you have would be greatly appreciated since we are selling the boat and have a buyer.

Thanks in advance!Boat Starter_3.JPG

(Yamaha/Mercruiser I believe).

Ayuh,... It's gotta be 1, or the other, it Can't be both...
I'm guessing it a Yamaha, because,..
It appears that you're missing a wire or 2... If it's a Merc...
Not that much can be seen in the pic...

Did you take the leads off the battery before you removed that starter motor? Maybe there's a loose or incorrect connection there?

If not, how bout fuses?

Everything was disconnected. Actually, it was disconnected for a few days while the starter was being fixed. I've double checked all connections and they are good, plus there are no wires not connected and the wires that are there can only go on specific posts. I'm going to check fuses tonight and see what I can come up with. I'm getting no power to the starter, but I thought it was weird that I'm not getting power to anything even when the key is in the accessory position.

Bond-O, I fixed it. It's a Yamaha.

Thanks guys!
