Yeah i know, stupid, but whatever, just wanted to see if anyone has any ideas on a fix for this. Theres a pretty good size hole from where the motor cracked from freezing this winter, and i pulled the metal the rest of the way out. I dont know a whole lot about motors, and i esp dont know about boat motors and where and how the water flows thru them. This motor still runs, it actually runs great, but where this hole is, which is behind the exhaust manifold, the only thing that comes out of it when running is water. Water doesnt seem to be getting into the oil, so i think this is some sort of seperate compartment for water only where this hole is.

The metal that came out broke into 2 pieces, but i still have both pieces. My idea is to either weld, or possible jb weld these pieces back. Whatever this compartment is, there being a hole there doesnt seem to have an effect on the compression of the motor because it runs fine. Just looking for some ideas and if anyone knows of a better site for me to post this lemme know.

The fix is called new heads, I would also pull the intake and check the lifter valley. Probably cracks there too. In which case, a new engine is the fix.
Manifolds are probably cracked too. same fix...... replace.

If the manifolds are the pieces that bolt onto whats in the pic, then you are correct. Not sure where the lifter valley is, i do know that water is not getting into the oil though. It would turn milky white if it was right?

It probably would if the water could get there, but it probably went out of the head and manifolds first. To be honest, I don't see any way your block could survive with the way the head is.

Remove the intake, that's the thing the carb bolts too.
Under it you will see where the lifters are, above the lifters, you will probably see the cracks.

If there were cracks there though, would the boat run just like it always has? And when i say there is not water in the oil, that assumption was made after the motor ran for about 10 mins while i was checking out my new water fall on the side of the motor. It ran fine and i didnt hear any difference in sound. It just started getting a little warm so i shut it down cause the water wasnt keeping it cool casue it was all leaking out. Im an idiot

Anybody wanna buy a 97 Glastron????? lol

Yee Gods.....you could throw a cat through that hole!

A fire hose couldn't keep up with that leak.

Ayuh,... The motor wasn't seeing the water, because the water was running Out of it...
It runs fine, because the Water jacket is Busted, which has little to do with it's ability to Run,...
Just it's ability to cool itself...

If the motor could cool itself, it would be filling the oil with water as well...
The water isn't getting into the oil, because it's running out the side of the motor....

You need a New long block motor,+ probably Manifolds as well...
