Hi

I have a 1998 Force 40 HP and its running really rough and boggy and is leaking gas and there was water in carb and only runs about 10 mph when normally i get about 30 mph. Anyways we changed the spark plugs, rebuilt the carb and seemed to be running good out of water on a hose in idle and gear but was still leaking gas but didn't seem like there was water in carb anymore. so we replaced the fuel lines and now when i took it out still doing same thing running crappy and leaking gas yet and running 10 mph. It seemed like the gas was a little watery when it was leaking . Out of ideas please help

Thanks

Matt

Only fix for water in the gas is to get rid of the gas. Need to pinpoint exactly where the gas is leaking from.

Double check your fuel enrichment solenoid. It acts as your choke. It may be stuck open. If it is stuck open, it'll keep dumping too much raw fuel into the intake. To test, pinch off the small supply line that goes from your carburetor fuel bowl to the solenoid, or from the solenoid to the intake area of the motor.
