Currently I trailer my boat - Lund 18 Foot Fisherman - on a trailer with carpeted bunks. Unfortunately carpeted bunks are no longer going to be allowed at one of the places I fish. Concern of zebra mussel spread.

Anyway I can switch to rollers or I have been looking at the Vinyl bunk covers.

Wanted to see what experiences people might have had with these Vinyl bunk cover products. Especially with aluminum boats.

Thanks for any info.

Oh that really suks, and it won't stop the zebras anyway.

I have seen these on several trailers, but don't know how well the work, or how long they last.
Don't think they will hurt the boat any.

I agree with Roscoe...before long they will have rules that a boat is only allowed to be used on one lake for its lifetime:rolleyes:

I'm intrigued by the idea of vinyl bunks...I wonder if regular marine vinyl would work? Probably not slick enough but might work.

I'm getting ready to do a trailer for my 12' tinny so I hope there are some good ideas/experience on this.

Re: Vinyl bunk covers

we have one with wooden bunks and then teflon pads on top for slidnig on and off. Works great. But i think the vinyl bunks are made to slide. Soap them if they're not.

I have them on a pontoon trailer, and love them, every boat I have I will never go back to carpet, they have been used and abused for 4 years now and no signs of wear........I 've seen them on plenty of glass boats since these are what most new trailers are coming with these days
