What if the boat never had a name? Still unlucky?

Just curious what you all think. Just bought a 1982 Imperial V182, one owner, meticulously maintained boat, and was thinking of naming her. The boat has had engine rebuilt 3 years ago, new alpha one outdrive, transom replaced, new interior. It is literally like brand new (except paint, buffer will take care of that though)

Im not that superstitious, but with a boat this well maintained, i want to have years of good luck, what do you think?

I have researched it. And read it. But it is all about REnaming a boat. The boat has never had a name so far. Only one owner who never named her.

If she's never been named...go ahead and name her. Nothing bad will happen.

Nothing bad will happen if you rename it anyway! Superstitions!! I also eat bananas on my boat all of the time. And as soon as we get it off of the bottom, I'm gonna do it again! :D:D

Maybe yes, maybe no.

My buddy named his boat after his wife. I do name painting so I did it for him as a birthday present for her. Now she's the X.

He got the boat, she got everything else!

Naturally, he took off the name. The problem was he kept the boat in the sun too long and the shadow of the old name persists.

His new girlfriend objects. He refuses to go thru the procedure to have a new name painted. I won't repaint without the procedure.

I don't want to anger Poseidon. To heck with the girlfriend....LOL.
