New Guy with a question

I'm considering a 50 HP Johnson. I'm told it was running fine but water started pouring out of the cowling just before it died. Any clues as why this would happen?

What model of 50 is it? Post a pic of what leaked the water out.

Just remember....if you get that motor, you'll have a big Johnson.

Most likely a hose leaking somewhere up top or a broken fitting as already said.

Wish I could help you guys as much as you helped me. I don't have access to the engine or serial numbers. I was looking at it to buy. It may be a good motor for someone just not a good motor for someone who knows very little about boat motors.
