I noted that when I turn the switch on to start the engine the Red or ground wires through the battery get really hot and if I keep trying a fume start to come from the battery terminals and the battery run out of charge right away. I already verify the terminal connections and those are OK , Could be an issue with the solenoid ? How do a check to determine the source of the issue , any ideas or suggestions will be great.

bad battery cables, check for nicks, cuts and swelling. dirty corroded connection battery, and motor end, solenoid connections and connections from solenoid and starter.

dirty connections, and bad cables build up resistance, which creates heat.

also could be burnt up starter.

I did verify all the connections and change the cables from the starter through the battery , clean also all the rest of the connections but the issue still there , Maybe the starter is the issue , How to verify and make sure , I know the starter cost A lot Around 200USD , is there a way to rebuild the affected one.

Tks.
