I have a 9.9 mercury motor that i'm having starter problems. The motor was stored off the boat for the winter. When i installed it on the boat yesterday when i tried to start the motor i imediately smelled wire burning.I removed the cover and the hit the switch and there was a arc coming off the hot terminal.I removed the cable and cleaned it and reinstalled it, then when i tried to start the motor i still had the arc and i noticed the negative cable was jumping and was getting hot. I traced the cables back and cannot find any promblem witm them. Would appreciate any advice.
