I picked up what I believe to be a pre-1930's galvanized steel Sea King, fishing boat today that I plan on restoring and running with an old 3.8 hp Hiawatha motor. It is 13.5 feet long and has ash gunwales, seats, and transom. Does anyone have any info or know of anywhere to get info on these old steel boats? Thanks.

Welcome to iboats. I removed your contact info as per our form rules.

Galvanized steel boat only 13 1/5' long..... sounds very interesting and would love to see photos. I was unable to locate any information about this

Welcome to the insanity of boats!
Any chance she's actually aluminum, maybe it's oxidized giving you that galvanic impression?
It's possible.....

I'm pretty sure that its steel. It has rust on it.

Two pretty cool features that it has are a brass valve instead of a plug that can be opened while motoring to get rid of water in the boat, also a free swinging welded ring hanging from the bow to tie off to. I plan on replacing all of the wood with poly covered ash (like on snowshoes) and paint the boat a light olive drab or marsh tan for duck hunting. If I can get my Hiawatha motor running I'll paint the boat to color match the motor which is the tan color.
