Re: Covert Operation...

Anything under $1000 doesn't require permission :p

My wife had said she didn't want another project boat. She knew from the Jupiter what it would REALLY cost. I went to buy the boat that coolbikeguy above ^^^ eventually bought, had the cash in hand, took a look at it and all I could think of was what she would say if I were to drag it home. I passed on it.

Problem is my wife knows I always bring them home for cheap, its the money its going to cost later that she produces THE LOOK for.

Re: Covert Operation...

not to steal this thread but whats the diff between an ss and an offshore ?? or are you just calling your ss an offshore ??

I think it's in the hull design. It might be a deeper V, or more deadrise. My ID plate and title both say "Offshore V".

If anybody knows what the difference is I'll be curious to know.

Hey guy's, guess what I bought last night......

Just kidding :D

Man, there I was...getting ready to join the covert-op... and being fashion conscience like all good Starcrafter's, I was having a dilemma on what to wear...Didn't even think about the effects when I chose the stealth camo's...probably explains why you all couldn't see my post's yesterday ;)

Hey Jas, hope he answers today, maybe he took it to the car wash and just missed your call by stopping at the mechanic's and having the bearings greased. ;)

Believe me, been married 23 yrs{this Aug} and the 'look' never get's any gentler, in fact the eyes develop a way to change into fire, so with that bit of info, and the fact I'm in the middle of an '61, let me just say, take a magnifying glass with you when you look at her...I had blinders on, being that I wanted one so bad...now that I can see straight, don't know if this one{mine} was worth the 'look'...anything over 20' now..well that's a whole new ballgame. :p

Some of the brochures('79 I believe) get into quite a bit of detail regarding the V-5 hulls. The extra 2 chines run all to the bow rather than stopping halfway up the bow.

More strength, stability, better planing and handling.:)

Well, I do have just over 11 acres here so I could hide her in the woods, throw some branches over top or something, eh!

Cheers!

OOooooo, dude!

The boat man, the boat!!!

LOL, I know...just that with the 'look' my wife gives, she'd have to think the choice over :p:D

Edit: to clarify....either the boat would be sent 'elsewhere', or I would ;)

Gotta go get some work done....later!

Re: Covert Operation...

OK, here is where we are at...

He just called me back and we talked it through. I made him an offer over the phone and he said he'd take it! BUT! There is a guy coming today at about 4:00 to come and check it out. He wants to give him first crack at it since he had called first and some sort of extended family member. If he doesn't take it he said I could have it. He is going to give me a ring early evening and let me know.

Boy I sure hope that other guy buys it!

If not, Covert Operation will be in full effect, have ninja throwing stars and rappelling ropes at the ready boys!

Now why would you say that?:p

I sure hope he doesn't buy it. Who would buy a boat with no trailer anyhow?

Better take down the ads selling the trailers...you're gonna need both:D

I've got extra hitch receivers, night-vision technology and other goodies ready to go.

Actually this comes with a trailer. So, I'd have three trailers and two boats! I would need to sell the trailer that comes with it super dooper fast to make this work! Actually, I'd prolly need to sell that trailer before I even bring that boat home to make it as close to free as possible!!! (and keep a roof over my head)

Not to be a pessimist but I don't think you will have any logisitics to worry about. Who goes to look at a $300 boat and doesn't buy it. If he doesn't, it will probably be for some reason you wouldn't want it either!!!!

Well, the fella said that the potential buyer wasn't very serious about owning a new old boat. It might be more of a "yah I'll come and take a look at" it sort of things. I should know in a few hours, eh!
