impellar HELP!!!!

I own a 89 cobra stern drive. I hooked up my muffs to the lower unit with the impellar out of the unit, Is there water soppose to be coming out the impellar unit area???? I have none if this is so...how wouls i fix it?? Thanks

Probably not, too much restriction through the ports for that, it's ok with the suction created by the pump, but not on it's own.

I'm not sure i even understand the question...

If the impeller is not there what about the housing?

unless your vent hose has came off.
