Searay 185/ stern drive broken.

While driving at high speed. we hit an underwater rock and the tip of the propeller shaft. It craked and the tip broke off. does anyone who may know what the repair might be close to ??? and also. What's a good and affordable way to repair chips and scratches on the fiberglass.
The pic shows my engine type and the ppart in the red circle is the where the piece broke off.

Ayuh,... Which Merc drive is it,..??
The Best,+ probably Cheapest in the long run is an aftermarket SEI replacement...
At this point,...at a Very minimum,.. your lower unit is Junk...

Has the rest of the driveline been inspected for Impact Damage,..??

You mean my lower is junk since the accident or i had a weak drive from the get go?
But the unit hasn't been inspected yet. the accident happened yesterday. and took a long time to get towed back to the marina. We got the boat out of the water, and left it for the service department to get me an estimate Later this week, but money numbers just keep running through my mind. I have no idea what this might cost me. This is my first boat and I'm still learning.
Also my boat is a SEARAY 185 sport year 2008, engine is a mercury 3.0 litre w/ alpha one drive.

Ayuh,... You need atleast a new Case,... I'd bet Merc will want $500.+ for it...
Plus the labor to reuse the guts of your Busted 1...
Just a WAGuess is $1000.+ Total... probably More...

An SEI replacement lower unit is I believe about $600.... and you can install it Yourself...

Brand new lower with a 3 year warrenty, $695 .Check then out at IBoats . Called the SEI 106
