A good friend of mine has a 2000 bayliner that boggs down on hi. He said that he has changed the spark plugs, and the distributor cap but nothing has helped. Anyone have anyh suggestions

How about some information about what engine you have. There are a lot of different 2000 bayliners from 16' to 48' and they all have different engines.

Need more specific symptoms.
Does it bog on hard accelleration, or does it get up to speed, then start losing power.
Or does it just not get up to speed? What RPM's is it reaching? Is it backfiring? Surging?

Just last weekend I worked on my buddies 1996 bayliner with the 3.0 LX mercruiser. It had the same problem. It would idle great and try to rev, but bog down and die instead. We purchased a carb rebuild kit for it and installed it. Totally solved the problem and ran great. I would think its in your carb.

That is why we try to find out what engine people have before giving answers. If he has a 5.7MPI engine, your carb rebuild won't help him a bit because he doesn't have one.
