I circled the number of active threads in subforums of the Boat Restoration forum:

Tells you a little something about this hobby we all chose, doesn't it?

Hmmmmm. Misleading.

A project has to pass muster with the Mods as a full boat restoration well done, well documented and well completed to get into the Completed Archive. It is not a forum.

The Restoration and Building Forum is about 8 years old. The Completed Projects Archive is around 2 years old.

Was not aware of that. My jest is now not so funny :(

Although I guess you could still say that it takes at least 6 years and 850 Boat Restoration threads to Complete one Boat Project ;)

The point is still valid though. Many more projects are started than finished in any hobby.

I know in my case of building a boat that life got in the way. I'm happy to say that although it took 4 years, two different employers, two different houses, and ONE WONDERFUL wife, the boat has been on the water for 3 years now. It, of course, will NEVER be finished:)

I think it is more to the point that a lot more restorations have been completed successfully but have not been posted, photographed and documented to a point that makes it worthy of the completed projects section.
My 2 cents

I convince myself that the completed projects are merely examples of guys who didn't know when to stop.

yeh thats the ticket!

I suppose you could, but as JB in his usual succinct fashion has pointed out, there'd be no point....and you'd still be incorrect....;)

Actually "completed boat project" is an oxymoron!!
There's simply no such thing, just different phases!!:p
