During start up, I noticed water coming from the area of the blowoff valve cover. Sure enough when I pulled it, there was a hairline crack in it. Question is: The new part came without a gasket and when I placed the new one on, I was still losing water from the area where it bolts to the manifold. Should there be a factory gasket? I had extensive work done to the motor last year and I am wondering if the mechanic forgot to put one back on when he hooked it back up.
Also, should the rubber plug be snapped into the housing of the valve cover or float freely from the spring?
Thanks
