Harmonic balancer size question

Just wanted to know if anyone knows what size the the HB is. Im not near my engine.Im trying to order a am timing pointer. 3.0LX 1996 Just need the dimension of it. thankjs for any help

As far as I know there is no aftermarket timing pointer for a 3.0L and V8 ones won't work. Replacing timing cover is the only real option.

well see - there is always a way. 200 dollars plus for a timing cover is robbery. Is it 6 inch 8 inch anyone? all im asking is a dimension.
Well after looking at some aftermarket ones there is no reason in the world i cant make this thing if i had to with some aluminum if the v6 aftermarket timing pointers dont line up.

$200 for a timing cover Did you check your local GM dealer ship? Should be the same thing as a 68 Chevy II with a 153CI 4 cylinder, that's the auto equivalent (well not really) I have used for a couple parts that did not need to be "marine"; pulley, gasket, etc.

well i wish i had those specs before .. I spent like 40 bucks for a new one on fleabay that has no timing tab.
