I have a 1989 Chrysler Force 125 (outboard not l-drive). I have several questions. First, i got the boat for free in ok condition but the head cover was off. I followed the torque down specs but the threading for the head bolts were old and came out around the head bolts when I began to tighten them down. Can I hexi coil the holes or is this power head a bust. Hexi coils and new bolts are 100 bucks a new power head is like 3000- a big difference. But I don't want to do any more damage. I have a seloc manual on its way but i doubt that it will cover tapping the head bolt holes. Also the motor was rebuilt three years ago and has been sitting with the head cover off ever since. There is a small amount of rust in the cylinders. I rubbed some oil in there before I covered it for the winter and the motor turns smooth. Is this something that I will have to worry about before slapping that head on? I would rather not have to rip the engine down to hone the cylinders if i don't have to. Any advice at this point would be helpful. Thanks

I did a bolt hole on my 87 last week, works like a charm.

I did a couple of holes on mine, drill and tap to 3/8-16. Stainless bolts from Home Depot. Worked great.:)

Yeah, that is great!!! Maybe my boat will see the water again and without taking out a mortgage! Thank you for all of your helpful replies.
