So I was filling up my power trim oil pump and I added some 30 non detergent oil. Not much went i as I did not have a funnel. I was planning on buying a funnel and adding the rest tonight. I called a marina and they suggested I add Dextron 30 transmission fluid or hydraulic fluid. They said it would be ok if I mixed the oil I put in and one of these other fluids. Is this correct? Suggestions?

I have a 1983, 85 hp, Force Motor.

Thanks!

do not use atf! hydrualic oil is ok RRitt will chime in he will tell you what to run... by the way if you use the pointy spout off a gear oil bottle it works wonders for fill trim oile on these motors, just cant get all the oil out but the spout fits perfect into the filler hole.

go to autoparts-R-us and buy a quart of hydraulic jack oil. It comes in a pointy tipped bottle for easy squirting. Or - if you really want to do it up right - go to a hydraulic supply house and ask them to sell you a quart of ISO-68.
