Like the title says I have water coming out of the top exhaust port on my 91 merc 135. This never happened before so I assume i screwed something up when replacing the impellar or t-stats. What do you guys think I should look for first? Thanks

Water is injected into the exhaust above the relief ports, so there should always be some spray coming out of them. Maybe you just didn't notice before.

Re: Water coming out of exhaust

I've run this thing in the tank I have several times before and never noticed it before. The impellar actually looked new but I replaced it anyway. I want to make sure we are talking about the same thing. I know exhaust comes out right above the intakes and I know water comes out of it as well. I'm refereing to the single exhaust port that it located up higher closer to the cowling. Like I said I never saw water come from it before so I was a little concerned. Is this normal?

Yep, it's supposed to be comming out of there. The tube going down from the thermostat housing to the back/bottom of your engine and connecting to the exhaust plate fitting is where the water is comming from.

Congratulations... you fixed a problem you didn't even know you had... ! I'll bet your tell tale is weaker now too... Supposed to be that way also.

Woohoo! Thanks for the good news. I wasn't looking forward to taking it all apart again.
