waiting for my gal to park the trailer, idling slow which is kinda normal, then a sorta slow miss fire, a little clank then no spark. took it home, removed flywheel, found 3 loose magnets, one with a small chip about half the size of your little fingernail. glued them all back, tried to start her up, tried to start a couple times then nothing! no spark! the stator didnt look bad except for a little gouge on top of one of those two bigger lobes...help

That engine has three major components in the ignition system which can cause that type of sudden failure: the stator, timer base or the power pack. They are all expensive, so some diagnostic time will be well worthwhile. A factory service manual gives troubleshooting information on each component. Contact Ken Cook Co., in Milwaukee for an original factory service manual.

thanks, have a manual, and will soon have a meter with a high ohm scale, just wondering if a small chip on one magnet is a problem?

You'll have to check the stator voltage output on both the charging side and the ignition side to see.
