I have a 1984 70 johnson that has no positive or negative connections to the motor. Appears that while boat was stored of the winter that someone has come by and taken the power cables off the motor. I think there is also a boot of some sort at the front of the engine casing that all the connections come through, that is not there. I have included some photos of the motor. Does anyone know where the positve and negative battery connections connect to the motor and if there is a boot that they wires come through? Any help or suggestions where i can find this is appriciated. Thanks

from my hazy memory, the negative goes onto a funny looking stud on the exhaust cover, it is a stud with a threaded bit sticking out, the cable goes on then a nut and spring washer, the positive goes onto the starter solenoid, you will find a copper looking bolt sticking out, same thing, nut and spring washer.

OH, and yes there is a grommet looking thing that goes on the engine where the cables go through, it is shaped to fit the housing and has holes for gear and throttle cables and battery cables.
