Electric Fuel Pump - Sight Tube Needed?

I recently purchased a boat with an engine that has NO SIGHT TUBE equipped. I know that for mechanical fuel pumps the sight tube is used to connect the fuel pump to the carb; if the diaphragm tears the fuel dumps into the carb rather than the bilge.

My question is this - IS THE SIGHT TUBE NECESSARY WITH AN ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP?

I've got a Carter electric fuel pump, I believe its a P4389 Carter as shown on the website below. Engine is 454 magnum 365 hp by the way.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks for the reply.

Should I just plug the barb outlet on the carburetor?
