1989 Well craft Instrument wiring

While changing out instrument cluster and new wiring found a pnp one way diode in the old wire harness, I did not know it was there until after inspecting the old wiring, it is nowhere noted on a schematic; does anyone know where this might be tied into the circut, if it does at all, and whats its purpose.

probably from the anchor/NAV light switch.

SPDT switch, one leg connected to the anchor light, the other to the bow light, with the diode between, so the anchor light could be run solo.
