1985 merc.25xd bogs down

Recently bought a 25 hp xd merc. Installed new plugs. Engine starts fine but I must leave it choked to run in order to shift. When I apply full throttle after pushing the choke off,it bogs down after it planes out. . Also,it will not idle unless I choke it. It will idle if I pump the bulb. Fuel pump?

Probably.. easy and cheap to rebuild it and find out.
