....So I just bought this boat. A 1966 Champion 17'. This is not a bass boat, but rather a speed boat similar to the Donzi's and Thunderbirds of the era I have seen on the internet. It originally came with a Holman Moody 302 I/O setup. What is unusual about this boat, is the engine cover that is raised up like a scoop or a bubble top.
I couldn't resist buying it, this boat looks fast and has a classic look that has turned heads just sitting on the trailer. I'll post some pic's later, but for now what I was wondering was, does anyone have any info or opinions on these boats, i.e. good or bad, links to sites, pictures, history, etc..?

A volvo 280 I'm guessing, from what friends are telling me, It has a Holman Moody plate on it where as otherwise it would say.

Went out on Sunday, .... it jumps right up
