I am going to replace the gauges on the boat I am working on however I am having trouble finding a set of gauges that will says they work for my boat.

I have a Baja with a 350 Merc and Merc Alpha1 outdrive. Anybody have a suggestion for a white faced gauge complete set that will work with this setup?

Thanks
Phil

tele=flex and faria both make white faced gauges - standard to merc, vp or omc.

Ditto to the above. For performance nuts and is sometimes orig equipment in some hi end performance boats , they run Livorse or Auto Meter Marine.

I have looked at these but it always seems to not include my setup. For example the trim gauge seems to never indicate it will work with my outdrive. If I replace the gauges I want them all to match and work. Maybe I am just looking in the incorrect place.

Re: Need Gauges recomended for Merc

I just checked faria site for trim gauges

Euro white = 12916
dress white = 13122
nantucket = 13607
chesapeake white = 14807
chesapeake white SS = 13807

FWIW - trim gauge is the most useless gauge ever made.

Thanks for the help! I think maybe the clock that mine has might be more useless. lol I agree the trim gauge is pretty worthless however if I am going to put gauges in it I atleast want them to work. lol

I know these aren't white, but they are very reliable. I put in these VDO gauges a bit over ten years ago. Not an .oz of trouble with them. I wanted a white background as well, but the needles backlight separately with these. (same as on a car) The face is green backlit as well and the face colors can be changed with your basic bulb condom. Very easy on the eyes during the day but especially at night thay are vivid. VDO may be making them in white now, not sure though.

Make sure you pull the drive and replace the trim sender and trim limit switch...

Thank you for the photo! These are actually my back up plan because VDO did indicate these will work.

FYI! I love that steering wheel in your boat.

yeaaa This is a whole different problem I have to deal with later. lol I have been working on cars my whole life and have built many race cars HOEVER this whole outdrive thing has me a bit concerned. Before I put this thing in the water I want the outdrive pulled and anything that needs replaced or repaired I want it done before its first run. The problem I am having is I can not find anybody that seems to know what they are doing when it comes to boats. We have 1 boat shop here in town and really do not feel comfortable with them. So if you know of anybody in central Indiana that is a wiz on this and wants to make some money let me know.

I tried calling the number on the website and the girl advised me I had the wrong number. Do you have a number where I can contact them?

Thanks Phil
