Hi, all

I am not sure about 6 gallon fuel tank. Do I leave the vent screw slightly loose when not used?

when I closed the vent plug and leave it in a boat the fuel seem to ouces out at the connector, spacially hot day.

Need some advice, thank you.

One of the original metal tanks? Where the connector is joined to the tank? Should hold the pressure. But it's ok to leave 'em vented. They aren't stored where there's a risk of a spark, right?

I have plastic tanks now and leave the vents open because fuel oozes out around the caps on those.

No, this is red plastic portable fuel tank. It sit in back of the boat when it should be. connector at where you hook up the hose, thank you for reply.

Is it ok to have it ventd while I have it in the boat?

As jtexas said - if you have no chance of sparking, venting your tank should be OK.

i always leave mine vented, plus i always forget to open it if its closed, then the motor starts running like crap so i know its the vent.

only time i close the vent is when im sloshing around the fuel inside to mix the 2stroke.
