i was thinking about getting my trailer painted. i have minimal rust on it so i want to address it sooner than later. do autobody shops paint trailers? just wondering because you can get a car sprayed for a couple hundred bucks why not a trailer?...

of course id have them use a different paint suitible for a trailer getting dunked in the ocean once a week.

I don't see why they wouldn't. Just make sure you go over with them what you expect to be done. Proper primer. proper finish coat, etc. I would definitely stay away from the Blow and Go shops. Find a smaller independent guy - probably get a better job and easier to work with. My $.02

I am sure you could find someone that would paint it.

But if you boat in salt do your self a favor and get a aluminum or galvanized trailer.

once a painted steel trailer starts rusting, it is hard to stop the rust, especially when you dunk in salt.

yeah i know what you mean. thing is, my boat/trailer was so cheap that buying a trailer isnt worth it.

If that is the case, why not just do it all your self. I have heard good things about a nice rattle can job. If you prep properly it can be done very well.

The problem is you have to remove rust from the inside of steel tube. any shop will charge a lot for this as well.
