I am fairly new to this stuff too, but I just pulled the carb off my 4.3 because it will not start most of the time & when it does it's only for a few seconds.
Back to your question... On my carb, which is a 2bb as well, the idle mixture screw is located on the front of the carb towards the bottom. Mine has a black circular thing around it which makes it tamper proof from the factory (dumb idea if you ask me). If yours has this, you will need to remove the black thing from around it in order to adjust it. I have not done mine yet, but hope to tomorrow. I am installing a rebuild kit in it. Also from the looks of mine, you will have to use a cutoff wheel or something similar to remove & may be very hard to do, if not impossible while the carb is still on the motor.
