Does anyone know what the size of the connecting rod bolt head is on a 1993 70 hp Force? 1/4 inch is too small, 5/16 is too large, 9/32 doesn't seem to work, unless my sockets are junk. Thanks. It's probobly something weird like 19/64's. Thanks again

If you are not using a 12 point socket, then none will fit. It is usually a 1/4 inch 12 point socket. Buy one at Sears

Thanks - will all the bearings fall out of the cage into the engine if I remove it through the reed valve cover? - Joe

Re: 70 hp Force connecting rod

Thanks - will all the needle bearings fall out into the block internals if I disconnect the rod cap through the reed valve port? Thanks again. Also, would you know what the piston to cylinder clearance should be? I lost compression on #2 cylinder (5 PSI) and the pistons look "sloppy" in the bores at TDC. I'm looking to see if I could just re-ring it or need to bore.
