I'm having problems with my boat. It's not turning over. It has a new ignition switch. The starter and soliniod are new, and new bat. It just clicks at the starter when turning the key. I re-did the ground too. The boat sat for 3-4 years. It was willed to me from a deceased brother. It will turn over by hand, so it's not frozen. Can you please help me figure out why it's not cranking. I must be getting power to the starter right, or no?

Do you have voltage at the starter? You need to tell us!! How about the main battery switch--Do you have a dual battery set-up. If all is good with the connections, it should be more than a click--A loud clunk should be what you hear as the starter engages and tries to turn the motor. Might have to remove the starter and bench test it.

I do not have a dual battery set-up, it never did. If the soliniod is clicking, that does mean I'm getting power to the starter right? The starter is new. I thought maybe the new bat. I bought for it wasn't charged all the way. I put cables on it from my truck. That still wasn't it. I don't understand why it won't turn over. There is no main bat. switch on the boat.

At the starter, jumper from the yel/red wire to the main battery connection, motor should turn over
Locate the slave solenoid, jumper the larger yel/red and the Red/purple, motor should turn over. Next using a jumper from the + side of the battery, touch the smaller yel/red lead, motor should turn ,if not slave is bad

OK. I jumped the starter soliniod. The big terminal to the S terminal. Motor did not turn over. It did nothing. Is there another relay somewhere or something I'm missing? The starter and soliniod are new. Battery is new. Ignition is new. I re-did the ground on the back of the motor. Chris.

I just replaced the slave soliniod. The motor still does not turn over. The slave just clicks. I have a new Bat., new ignition switch, new starter, new slave. Still nothing. The motor does turn when jumping the starter soliniod though. HELP!!!!!!

Ayuh,... Instead of throwing expensive parts at it,...
Buy a $5.00 Test Light, or a multimeter,+ Follow the Power....
