2000 Mariah 18ft shabah with a 4.3l
All started with doing something I shouldn't have been doing...

I was cruising in the river abot 40 mph per the speedo at about 4,800 rpm with the motor trimmed up kicking a rooster tail (stupid I know playing around) I noticed a small knock sound after I trimmed down and slowed down to a no wake zone. I pulled up to the dock and checked the oil. Oil looked in good condition at the bottom of the hashes on the stick. I added a 1/2 qt just to be safe. Knock still exists. I also noticed the drive oil could use more fluid in the resovoir but it is not empty. I ran the boat back to the ramp at a decent speed with the same knock to get home. No loss of power and it maintained really good oil pressure all the way back. Noise didn't seem to get any louder. Noise exists at idle and it gets louder as I rev it up in neutral.Could I be looking at a lower end bearing issue. This wouldn't be a drive train issue for sure right because it does it at idle in the neutral position? ANY HELP WITH THIS ISSUE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!

Re: 2000 4.3l knocking

Yes. Your 4.3l is an I/O, not an outboard.

I will move this for you.
