Mercruiser MC-1, R, MR, Alpha One Impeller interchange?

I have not yet identified what drive it is, but judging by the top mounts, it is not a alpha one. It is either a R, MR, or MC-1. So can I use my good impeller out of my alpha one in the older drives? Again just the impeller itself.

The one I am changing is old and still working, and the used one I have is only one season old and looks new.

1 size fits all, mc-1 through alpha1 + some others..

This begs the question, why use a used part when a new one not very expensive?
And one size fits all from 1983 to 1999 i think.

I agree that it seems "penny wise and dollar foolish" to put in a used one year old impeller instead of a new one.

that would include alpha1 genII that started around 1991ish. genII's are not the same impeller.

anytime i'm looking at or feeling a alpha1 impeller, i'm replacing it... imho they are fragile. not to bad to go get to, but enough trouble i'd R&R it too if it were in my hand.

I missed a good deal. Bummer. Was at a total house auction and it went a lot higher than I thought it would, and was not prepared. Not to mention I already have a decent boat I like.

I know an impeller should be installed new. But my boat has a 1 season impeller in it, just like the owner said, so I now know I can get 2 seasons out of my brand new one. Some locals say 3-5 seasons, I may push 3, but absolutly not 5. My housing was also brand new as well.
