'88 johnson 90hp won't start

engine ran fine on Sat. but would not start on Sun.
replaced all 4 plugs which seemed to be fouled but engine still not starting, it will crank but not turn over.
any help would be greatly appreciated :confused:

Get a spark gap tester from the auto store, set gap to 3/8th inch, all plugs out and have someone crank it over. Should be a bright blue spark,

don't bother trying a spark test with a sparkplug, its too small a gap.
If you have a timing light that will tell you if ignition is dead.

Disconnect the black wire / yellow stripe from the power pack and see if spark returns.

Whilst you're in there, put a meter from the kill wire to the engine block, if theres any reading the power pack is probably dead.

found a small fuel leak from what looks like the carb line, pretty sure that's the problem

still a no go on starting but noticed the lanyard was broke to the kill switch so that may be the problem. should've checked that first i guess
