Have another "add on" telltail issue

The first time I tried the add on telltail it was not pumping anything out. I want to the lake & dunked the back end in & it worked there, not as powerful of a stream but good enough. I went to my area's version of a big lake yesterday to just buzz around & see if any friends were around. The telltail worked OK & at WOT spit out a 2' stream, I was OK with that too. At one point of my cruise I had to run at "no wake" speed for a while, (I'd say 10-15 min.'s @ maybe 700 rpm), I turned around to check the telltail & say quite a bit of steem. Coming from both the telltail & factory exhaust port. Again, MAXX (me) went into panic mode, I pushed the rpm's up just enough to get water flowing from the telltail tips & it was hot. As long as there was water coming out I was good. I went right to WOT to try & cool it down a bit & the stream did cool down to warm, but never to the basic water temp. I'm sure it won't get to that temp as the water was kind of chilly. Here is my idea on what the deal is- let me know if correct.: I think the impeller has never been changed & is in need of replacement. I think it is just about warn out & can't keep up with the motor, esp'lly at no-wake speed. I want to disconnect the telltail for now because I think it is robbing the little, much needed water that the warn out impeller is pumping. I don't suppose I should run it too many more times in this condition or can I run it for awhile? I just got the boat & would hate to have "down time" now. What do you think?

It only takes 1/2hr to change the impeller. It should be available on this site or any Mercury dealer.
AS long as it's not making the alarm go off it's cooling.J

Very simple to change out like jerryjerry05 says. I would NOT run your motor again until you have replaced the impeller.
