Not sure what is wrong

i have a 98 75 hp force it over heats when trolling there is not a constint stream of water out of the peehole at low idle or speed. changed water pump and did not change.any ideas what it might be.

What condition was the impeller when you took it apart?The tube from the pump might be clogged,any info will help.J

Thermostat may be stuck. Time to replace it.

I had a '88 35 hp that had a cracked tube going from impeller to powerhead. Might check that out!

the impeller loooked fine when i changed it .how does the tube from the pump to the engine come out .i have a thermostat on order. i would really like to check the tube for a crack before i put it back together.

On my 99 it just slips (falls) out. Hey how does that line break in the first place?

That tube cracks when it freezes in the winter.Not all outboards drain completly.J

I took the exhuast cover off to get the pump tube off no signs of a crack but there is a hole in the rubber seal that seals the pump tube to the engine.
