Mercontrol stuck?????

I have a 62' Lynn Craft with a Mercontrol. Was fine and then I put it in reverse and when I went to go back into neutral the contol is stuck. Even when I disconnect the cables from the motor it still won't go into neutral. What could be the problem and how do I fix it? Handle is about an inch from neutral.

Ayuh,... Take it apart til you find the problem,...
Then fix it, or replace it....

What I am wondering if it is the box or the cables. I am thinking box but not totally sure. Also is this a hard box to take apart.

If you disconnected at the motor, most likely inside the box.

it's in the box and is probably the lock pin that has popped out of place. The MerControl box is VERY easy to take apart. Post a pic of which one you have and I probably have a drawing for it.
