I have a Merc 2004 50ELPTO, the voltage regulator is bad (not charging) and smells like burnt electronics (both yellow wires were HOT to the touch and melting, coming from under flywheel). Dealer says the part is discontinued but a few is still available ($168). The part # they gave me was #(88825A 6), but when i look up part online it does not show wires coming out from regulator. The one that came off it has 2 yellow, 2 red, 1 black, 1 gray wire. Looks like part #883072T, except the 2 red wires are not side by side. I ordered the part dealer said was the correct one but afraid it is wrong (maybe mine had been swapped to an incorrect one prior to me getting), but there are the same color wires and correct number of wires for the old regulator.

That catalog from Crowley's shows the part # that i thought it looked like but my dealer say's that is not what they show. Theirs from the dealer say's voltage regulator kit (supposed to be discontinued).
