Purchased a 1988 bayliner 1750 w/ trailer for $300.00, yep $300.00. I only wanted the trailer, but had the boat motor checked out by my mechanic anyways, because i like the boat and am thinking of keeping it. To make a long story short there is some work there, the engine runs but has a hole in a piston wall. Ive started to search for 2.3 ford long blocks to change out, but after reading many of the entries on here i'm wondering if i should go with a different engine (hp)size and make and/ or drive. As stated before I only have $300.00 and some change into this as of now.
