Hey all, just a quick question, hope someone can help.

I'm trying to time my motor and was wondering if using joe reeves cranking method do I set the timing at 24 with the timing linkage pulled all the way forward? or just do it with the throttle at full?

on my motor when the throttle is at full there is still room for the timing linkage to move forward more, maybe half an inch or more.

FYI sticker on the motor says BTC is 28

Thanks

I cannot provide an answer but just wanted to say that I have wondered the same thing. It would seem to me it would be throttle opened up all the way because you can never go any further anyway, but what do I know, Im just a genius disguised as an idiot!

After much internet searching I'm still confused. I just read that someone says to unhook the timing from the throttle linkage to get the full advance.

You really do need a OEM manual to set the Link'n Sink properly. We also need the model number to determine if its a optical or trigger coil type ignition system. This makes a big difference on adjustments.......

the motor is a J90TLEOR and unfortunately I don't have an oem manual but I have the seloc manual and did the link n sink per that one.

Does my motor have the fast start feature? I couldnt find the black/white wire and my manual wasn't very helpful.

There is no quick start on your motor. This is where the OEM manual really is worth its price.
