Hi All,
This boat is new to me and I don't have any service manuals yet for the engine or the remote control. If any one has a copy of these manuals or has knowledge of where best to get them at a reasonable price, please let me know. This remote control is for a 1976 Mercury 850 mounted on a 1976 Glastron V-162 runabout. The motor rpm's will adjust with the smaller "warm-up" lever. However, I don't have the same experience with the gear/throttle lever. When I put the warm-up lever in the 3 o'clock position (full back) and move the large throttle/gear lever from neutral to forward, the engine stalls. I have to have the warm-up lever slightly up at low rpm to keep the engine running when I place the large lever in forward or reverse. Once in forward gear, moving the large lever forward to 10 o'clock increases the rpm's enough to be able to put the smaller warm-up lever in the full back position. However, moving the gear lever forward more does not produce any more rpm. Moving the throttle lever to anything farther forward than the 9:30 position creates a stalled engine. The engine seems to run fine, but the controls need some help. Anyone have some wisdom they would like to share on this subject?
