need help please

ihave a 85 model merc 115 inline 6 it runs great but after you stop and take off a few times it starts running on 5cylinders and compression is 120 on all cylinders the num2 cylinder is always the one that stops fireing replacd coil and still same thing take it back out tomorow and it will run fine for awhile then num2 stops fireing any help would be appreciated

Sounds like the switch box is on is way out.

plugs, wires cap and rotor. Mostly on #2. As this one is the problem, consentrate on things only dealing with that hole. The coil runs them all and if not all are having trouble then its not the coil.

Do you have a sticking valve? There is a reason that only one hole drops out.
