Gale was a division of OMC (Evinrude, Johnson & Gale) until the outboard division of Gale was switched to inboard/outboard production after the 1963 model year---which was the last year they produced outboards to be sold as Gales or any of their customer branded motors.

Chrysler was a TOTALLY different company that came into existence when Chrysler Corp. bought out the outboard division of West Bend Alum. Co. The VWB prefix to your serial # gives it away as a Chrysler product. The 3.5 horse Chrysler was an older West Bend air-cooled design that required 16/1 fuel/oil mix to last long since it has NO ball, roller or needle bearings---only plain sleeve bearings. If you reduce the oil content of that required mix you WILL destroy it very shortly. They are a VERY user-friendly little motor when properly tuned and maintained.
